Speech-Language Pathologist – Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit - Per Diem

At NYP/Weill Cornell Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists help patients experiencing serious impairments connect with the world around them. Our tremendous team provides the expertise patients need to flourish in the areas of dysphagia and communication. We are always looking for better ways to accomplish this goal. Evaluate and treat adult patients with communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in our inpatient rehabilitation unit. Conduct objective assessment of swallowing via Modified Barium Swallow Studies and/or Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing.

Schedule

This position is per diem and days worked are flexible. Seeking someone with frequent weekday availability. Includes intermittent weekend and holiday coverage. Typically work shift is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. 

Preferred Criteria

• Competency with MBSS and/or FEES Experience in inpatient rehabilitation.
• Specialized training in dysphagia and communication evaluations and treatment.
• One to two years of previous experience in this setting.

Required Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Certification in Speech-Language Pathology by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
• New York State licensure.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
