Per Diem Social Worker- Victims Intervention Program - Weill Cornell

The Social Worker for the Victim Intervention Program conducts clinical social work assessments, executes interventions for crime victims and their families. In this position you will provide a range of services such as crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, emergency services and information and referral . Work on a collaborative team of licensed social workers.

This is a per Diem Social Work position, in the Victim Intervention Program (VIP) that provides prevention, education and crisis intervention services to meet the needs of survivors of domestic and sexual violence, elder abuse, human trafficking, and other crimes. Responsibilities include working with college and universities to meet Title IX requirements and delivering trauma informed clinical services .The position requires a trauma informed/trained practitioner to deliver education, prevention and provide direct services to survivors of violence in individual and group modalities. A commitment and dedication to serving this population is essential. Experience in program planning, conducting presentations and knowledge of Title IX legislation are a plus.

You must be able to work 2 shifts each week to suit the expanding services and growing needs of the clientele of the VIP. Here, you will experience all the reasons why you entered such a rewarding field and have an opportunity to grow with this new program.

This position is 2 shifts/week including weekday/weekend and evening hours.

Preferred Criteria

• Bilingual - Spanish
• Trauma Informed Care
• Crisis related experience
• Presentation skills

Required Criteria

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
• New York State License as a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)

Must be flexible with weekday evening, and weekends
