We have an amazing opportunity for you to join our team as a Facility Maintenance Specialist in our facility located at the Port of Miami! You will have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of people who are passionate about what we do and dedicated to making sure our customers are taken care of.

Summary :

This position is responsible for maintaining the optimal functioning of terminal buildings, structures and facilities. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Pay Rate : $17.00 / hour plus overtime

Available Shift : Monday Friday 5 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM (Extended Hours as needed); Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of two (2) years of hands-on maintenance experience in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, etc.
  • Experience and ability to use common hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers.
  • Clean valid driver’s license.
  • Certificate in trade skills related to HVAC, electricity, industrial repairs, etc.
  • Ability to communicate (read, write and speak fluently) in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to accurately process alpha / numeric information
  • Must have basic computer and typing skills
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills. Ability to meet and deal effectively with the vendors, contractors and the general public.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, multitask and possess strong initiative.
  • Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions.
  • Must be able to work (flexible hours) long hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.

Physical Requirements :

  • Subject to physical and / or DOT Screening is required along with other tests as applicable
  • The employee is continuously required to stand, walk, grasp, talk and hear
  • The employee must frequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 10lbs. and occasionally lift up to 75lbs.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, exercise repetitive wrist and foot motion, and exercise finger dexterity
  • The employee is frequently required to exercise eye-hand-foot coordination and frequently eye-hand coordination.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb, pinch, reach overhead, twist, squat and kneel
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
