Public Safety Supervisor
- (3283371)Receiving general direction from the Public Safety Director or Operations Manager, incumbent shall provide a safe and secure environment for Hospital patients, visitors, and employees by enforcing Hospital security regulations and by continuously watching for and the timely reporting of all hazards or unusual occurrences through patrol of assigned areas. Furthermore, the incumbent shall provide protective service and response for protection of the people and property of the Hospital and is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operation of Department.
Responsible for the orientation, training, and coordination of staff. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of his/her assigned shift and shift personnel.
Education
- A strong educational background (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree) in Criminal Justice or related field is preferred
Experience
- A minimum of 1 year within NWH Public Safety Department is preferred
- 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred
- Previous experience Supervising multiple reports preferred
- Demonstrates excellence in leadership.
License/Certifications
- Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s license or valid license form the state in which the employee resides
- Must submit to and pass an annual criminal background check.
- Must be able to obtain prior to the end of training period and maintain throughout employment:
o AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention & De-Escalation Training
o Ability to be an AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention & De-Escalation Training Instructor preferred
- Must obtain within the first 90 days of employment and maintain throughout employment:
o International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification
o First Aid/CPR/AED
o FEMA IC-100, ICS-200, and ICS-700
- Must obtain within one year of employment and maintain throughout employment:
o Handcuffing Training
o Pepper Spray Defense Training
o Ability to be a Handcuffing and Pepper Spray Defense Training Instructor preferred
- Annually, must complete:
o Security Sensitive Risk Assessment
- Preferred Qualifications:
o Massachusetts License to Carry Class A Licensure
