• Previous successful coaching experience
• Commitment to professional growth
• Ability to accept responsibilities outside the team as they relate to the school and community
• Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• MIAA Certified coach; (or certifiable)
• NF Fundamentals of coaching course
• First Aid, CPR certification
• NF Sport Specific course or equivalent license
• CORI and SORI
• Has knowledge and background in the assigned sport.

• Education background desirable

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

• Attends all practices and games
• Complies with school and MIAA policies and regulations
• Complies with school and Conference/League policies and regulations
• Works cooperatively with the school staff
• Cooperates with Assistant Athletic Director and the head coach to submit rosters, equipment lists and bus lists
• Relates positively to parents and other community representatives
• Completes required records and reports with promptness and accuracy
• Assumes responsibility for care of equipment and facilities
• Assumes responsibility for a safe environment for student athletes
• Models positive behaviors, especially with regard to sportsmanship and the alcohol, tobacco and drug rules
• Meets with the head coach for an evaluation at the end of the season
• Maintains and inventories all equipment and supplies
• Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students
• Responsible for implementing "other job-related duties" as needed

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.

• While performing the duties of this job, the coach is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The coach is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building.
