Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):

• Supervise and evaluate ESL teachers.
• Spearhead refinement and development of ELD curriculum using DESE’s NGESL Rubric, including short and long-term planning. 
• Implement ELSPs to monitor student progress to ACCESS benchmarks in collaboration with school-based teams. 
• Research and develop improvements to the ELL program model.
• Develop systems and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations that govern ELL programming.
• Co-develop and lead ESL department professional development.
• Develop and deliver ELD professional development to NPS educators.
• Oversee mandated English Language Proficiency assessments.
• Assist with hiring of new ESL teachers.
• Attend weekly curriculum coordinator meetings.
• Additional duties as determined by the Director of the ELL Program.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Work is performed in both office and school environments

• Ability to travel between multiple school locations (must possess valid driver’s license)
• Ability to operate computer, printer, telephone, copier, facsimile machine and all other standard office equipment
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 15 pounds
• Sufficient mobility to navigate within large school buildings
