Director, Investor Reporting

Job purpose

As an Investor Reporting Accountant at NewPoint Real Estate Capital, you will play a crucial role in maintaining transparent communication and building strong relationships with our investors. You will be responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing, analyzing, and disseminating investor reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The role is primarily responsible for performing a number of accounting-related tasks, such as, reporting, balancing, and remitting financial figures to third-party investors, preparing reports, maintaining accurate records, identifying payment discrepancies, providing analysis, etc.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare Investor Reports: Generate periodic reports including financial statements, performance summaries, and other relevant documents for distribution to investors.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and investment performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations for enhancing investor value.
  • Communicate with Investors: Serve as a primary point of contact for investor inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses and addressing any concerns or requests.
  • Ensure Compliance: Stay updated on regulatory requirements and industry standards related to investor reporting, ensuring adherence to all relevant guidelines.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the overall investor experience.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including accounting, loan servicing, and asset management to gather relevant information and facilitate smooth reporting procedures.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with investors, fostering trust and confidence in NewPoint Real Estate Capital's investment strategies and performance. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
  • 5 years of experience in investor reporting, loan accounting, financial reporting, or a similar role within the real estate or investment management industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, investment concepts, and real estate markets.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools/software (e.g., Excel, SQL, etc.).
  • Experience using Enterprise loan servicing system.
  • Experience using Fannie Mae, Ginnie Mae, and/or Freddie Mac’s investor reporting systems.
  • Knowledge of CREFC reporting practices
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
