Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide support and care for individuals in a residential setting. Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of our residents. Responsibilities: - Provide direct support to residents in accordance with their individual care plans - Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing - Support residents with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met - Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors - Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation in recreational programs - Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents - Document resident progress, incidents, and observations accurately and timely Skills: - Strong knowledge of social work principles and practices - Experience in dementia care, memory care, or home care is highly desirable - Ability to drive and transport residents to appointments or outings - Proficient in first aid techniques and emergency response procedures - Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members - Knowledge of behavior management techniques to address challenging behaviors - Familiarity with monitoring vital signs and responding appropriately to medical emergencies - Competent in meal preparation according to dietary requirements Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training in relevant fields is a plus - Previous experience working in a residential care setting preferred but not required - Must pass background checks and drug screening We offer competitive pay rates and opportunities for career growth within our organization.
