Description
NewLimit is seeking an Automation Engineer with a background in laboratory automation for cell biology, molecular biology, or genomics to join our Automation team. Automation is one of the key enabling technologies for our research program, allowing us to increase both the fidelity and scale of experiments in our Discovery Engine for reprogramming medicines:
As an Automation Engineer on our team, you will:
  • Collaborate with our Epigenetic Editing and Single Cell Genomics teams to automate the world's largest screening platform for partial reprogramming interventions
  • Collaborate with our Predictive Modeling team to expedite the analysis of complex experiments by automating experimental execution
  • Design, implement, and operate laboratory automation systems for cell biology, molecular biology, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) experiments
  • Leverage both hardware and software to reduce the number of human hours required per hypothesis we test
  • Contribute to the design, decision making, and implementation of NewLimit's technology platform
Requirements
  • ≥2 years of industry experience in a laboratory automation role
  • Bachelor's degree or greater in electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, molecular biology, or a related field
  • Experience developing laboratory automation solutions for molecular biology workflows
  • Working knowledge of cell and molecular biology processes, sufficient to work productively with laboratory scientists
  • Experience programming in languages relevant for laboratory automation (one of Python, Java, VBScript, etc.)
Nice to have
  • Experience automation next generation sequencing workflows for single cell genomics
  • Experience with automation in BSL II environments
  • Experience automating mammalian cell culture processe
