Newbury Elementary is Hiring a Preschool Special Education Teacher: Triton Learning Center TLC Program Near Newbury, MA

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Assess the needs of students with severe disabilities through formal and informal assessments in order to develop and implement an appropriate Individualized Education Plan for all assigned students.

Design appropriate teaching strategies and interventions to support growth within each IEP

Train instructional assistants to implement individual programs and document progress

Manage student behavior through monitoring, supervising, and assessing behavioral patterns

Prepare timely progress reports for each student.

Participate in and be prepared for IEP meetings with legal timelines

Communicate with parents and building principal

Advocate for all students to provide a rich learning environment

Develop and implement behavioral intervention plans when necessary

Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, therapists, BCBA, and administration regarding appropriate accommodations, modifications, and curriculum for students with disabilities

Coordinate special education services with general school program in order to ensure that students receive services in the least restrictive environment

Skilled at creating schedules to meet the needs of all students

Share information and provide assistance and consultation to students, parents, and outside agencies

Strong interpersonal skills and able to have difficult conversations when need

Positivity and the belief all students can learn and promotes clear and high expectations daily
