Newberry Tanks & Equipment is a leading steel tank fabricator serving the oil jobber, agriculture, industrial, and equipment contractors nationwide. We manufacture steel petroleum storage tanks, bulk oil dispensing tanks and distribute accessory equipment. The company was founded in 1927 in Memphis, Tennessee. As a fast-paced company that is expanding, we are company looking for an organized junior accountant to help in multiple aspects of the business. This position will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of a variety of financial records.
A successful candidate will efficiently and effectively:
- Process and post vendor invoices
- Assist with processing of shipping documents and customer invoicing
- Maintain sales tax exemption certificates
- Process monthly salesperson commissions
- Audit production entries
- Process new customer credit applications
- Prepare various analytical reports
- Assist with maintaining fixed asset detail records
- Assist CFO with monthly/yearly closings
SKILLS:
- Good organizational abilities
- Attention to detail
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Understanding of Accounting and Financial Reporting principles and practices
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
- Sage 100 ERP software experience a plus
- Good communication skills
EDUCATION:
- Minimum 2-year associate degree in accounting
