Position Summary

Write, edit, and maintain engaging, accessible, user-focused website copy for prospective students and other visitors to the NYU Steinhardt website. Employ search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to ensure prominent rankings in search engine results. Provide feedback and guidance to other content management system (CMS) users responsible for developing and maintaining specific page content. Work with other members of the Web Team to support strategic planning for better user experiences. Assist in writing clear and succinct marketing recruitment emails for prospective graduate students with important, timely content. Provide support and review of internal emails to the NYU Steinhardt community.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, English, or a related field.Preferred Education:Master's DegreeRequired Experience:3 years experience writing and editing user-focused web and/or marketing email copy.Preferred Experience:3 years work experience in higher education or non-profit communications/marketing. Technical writing and instructional writing. Experience using web content management and customer relationship management systems.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Collaborative and consultative work style; strong partnering and relationship-building skills. Highly organized, meticulous about detail, and strong multi-tasking capabilities. Ability to think creatively and strategically. Knowledge of search engine optimization tools and techniques.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Understanding of the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA standards. Knowledge of Google Analytics and basic HTML for formatting and styling web content. Ability to speak in public and present complex ideas in easily digestible ways. Basic image editing.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,600.00 to USD $90,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
