MEDICAL BILLER AND COLLECTOR NEEDED WITH EXPERIENCE IN HOSPITAL, COMMERCIAL, MEDICARE BILLING

POSITION IS NEEDED TO BILL AND COLLECT FOR HIGH VOLUME NEUROLOGY PRACTICE

Experience: Medical Billing and Collection direct experience in Medical Billing (Preferred)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Investigate insurance claim denials, exceptions, or exclusions. Take necessary action to resolve claim and payer issues in an effort to recover proper reimbursement.
• Verifies for accuracy the selected diagnosis and CPT codes following coding guidelines
• Submit billing data to the appropriate insurances
• Correct any denials due to coding errors
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes, and Medical Terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with Lytec billing software (preferred, but not required)
• Review and work claims in the clearing house. This may include but not limited to rejections, pending approval, transmitted, or deleted
• Schedule and perform regular timely collection follow up telephone calls on all assigned accounts.
• Prepare/submit/re-bill medical claims electronically (and when applicable by paper) to Medicare, Medicaid Managed Care, and commercial insurance carriers
• Initiate and track appeals as necessary
• Provide timely notation of action taken on patient accounts and special reports.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
