Responsible for direct and indirect patient care, utilizing professional nursing skills and
Knowledge.
-Provides excellence in customer service and patient/family engagement at all times.
-Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on Emergency Department patients.
-Ability to coordinate and supervise patient care;
-Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management
techniques.
-Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
-Ability to interpret results of EKG tests and take appropriate action on EKG tests results.
-Knowledge of medications and IV Fluids and their correct administration, based on age
of the patient and patient’s clinical condition. Ability to formulate an individualized
plan of care and evaluates the effectiveness.
-Identifies physical symptoms and changes and takes appropriate action, promptly.
-Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and can identify dysrhythmias.
-Carry out medical and surgical asepsis during treatments and special procedures.
-Ability to perform EKG testing, point-of-care testing, and swabbing per clinical
laboratory, as well as phlebotomy.
-Follow Emergency Department’s patient care units’ policies and procedures.
-Organizes and manages nursing activities, reflecting due consideration for patients’
needs and the needs of the facility and staff.
-Insert intravenous IV Catheters.
REQUIREMENTS: -A graduate of an accredited Nursing school. BSN degree Required;
-Current NYS Registered Nurse licensure;
-One (1) year of hospital nursing experience Required;
-Two (2) years of ED and ICU experience Preferred;
-Excellent customer Service skills;
-BCLS, ACLS, and PALS Required;
