IT Engineer

Location: Los Angeles / San Fernando Valley / Orange County Area

Job Type: Full Time - Hybrid

Pay Range: $80,000 - $100,000 DOE Bonus

General Summary:

Generation IX is looking to hire an IT Engineer with an emphasis on all things Modern Cloud. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and migrating systems from on-premise to the cloud, have strong hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Office 365 issues, extensive networking experience, have managed an enterprise using Intune, know all things Azure, and be a well-rounded security expert as it relates to the modern distributed workforce. Additionally, this position will act as a project lead on their high-tech team working with other technicians and engineers to successfully see projects through from initiation to completion.

Responsibilities, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong experience in implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network, and Security
  • Strong experience in implementation and administration of Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Sharepoint/OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Experience with Office 365 Advance Threat Protection
  • Management of SSO and MFA solutions (Azure MFA, Duo)
  • Strong knowledge of email retention and litigation hold processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery, and high availability strategies for Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of IaaS and PaaS services
  • Windows Server and SQL database creation, configuration, upgrade, migration and patching
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot Azure server and SQL database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resources
  • Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Authentication
  • Knowledge of network protocols such as DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP
  • Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience managing enterprise endpoints using Microsoft Intune
  • Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client troubleshooting.
  • Excellent PowerShell skills
  • Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory including managing/maintaining GPOs

  • Job is a combination of remote, client offices and Generation IX office.
  • Gen IX works in both Windows and Mac environments.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree and industry certifications preferred
  • 3 years of Microsoft Azure AD, Windows/Office 365, and Microsoft Intune experience
  • 2 years of Sharepoint Online
  • Knowledge of tools like Connectwise Automate or Autotask, monitoring software, endpoint management etc. is a plus.
  • Some afterhours and weekend work may be required
  • Traveling to the office and client locations as needed
  • CA Driver’s license in good standing
  • Reliable vehicle
