New River Health Association is Hiring a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician Near Hill, WV

Location: Oak Hill Pharmacy (may need to work at other pharmacy sites - Fayetteville, Sophia, and Smither's).

Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 6:00 PM); Saturdays (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)

Job Description:

Assists Pharmacist with operation of the pharmacy. Assists with third party billing and reconciliation, filling and dispensing of medications to patients and inventory control. Works in a manner consistent with NRHA mission, goals, and standard of conduct and care.

Pharmacy Responsibilities:

  • Correctly reads prescriptions and accurately counts or measures medications
  • Performs data entry of prescriptions under the direction of the Pharmacist
  • Receives prescriptions from patients and obtains patient information for processing and proper billing
  • Received telephone prescription refill orders
  • Places drug orders using the computer, checks in drug orders and stocks shelves
  • Rotates stock and pulls out-of-date stock to return to manufacturer or to disposal under the supervision of Pharmacist
  • Assists Pharmacists with keeping proper inventory/ ordering points
  • Prepares requisitions for pharmaceutical supplies for nursing staff at all sites and departments and forwards to Pharmacist to check
  • Prepares bank deposits
  • Prepares paper billing for immunizations that cannot be billed online
  • Assists Pharmacist with counting inventory
  • Assists Pharmacist with keeping signature log as required by law
  • Assists Pharmacist in teaching pharmacy students about the operation of the pharmacy
  • Assists Pharmacist in quality assurance audits, monthly reports and 340B audits
  • Assists with special projects assigned by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Director (i.e retina camera, diabetes classes, etc.)
  • Keeps pharmacy clean and neat
  • Records refrigerator temperatures
  • Attends pharmacy staff, office staff and workgroup meetings as requested

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed within a NRHA clinic environment. Occasional evening and weekend hours. Involves contact with patients, staff, vendors and the community. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires a full range of body motion including: re-positioning and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. May required physically assisting individuals weighing up to 300 pounds. Frequent standing, walking and bending required for extended periods of time. Requires physically lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. Required corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.

TRAVEL:

Travel required to all NRHA sites as assigned. May need to work at other pharmacy sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
