New Pathways Youth Services is Hiring a Qualified Mental Health Professional Near Richmond, VA

We are in search of licensed Qualified Mental Health Professionals- Adult/Child/Trainees' who are dedicated to working with adults, children and their families in their home or their community to provide them with training, support and resources.
Job Duties will include:
  • Works with children and families in the family home and the community, providing services on an intensive basis
  • Utilizes effective listening skills to establish rapport with family members, provide emotional support and encouragement, and engage family members in the service process
  • Models effective life skills with children and parents
  • Involves children in positive recreational, entertainment, and educational activities
  • Assists parents in implementing and effective behavioral management plan for their child or
    children
  • Maintains communication with school officials and other authorities in a child’s life to monitor
    the child’s behavior and needs
  • Assists parents and children in practicing effective communication, problem solving, and anger
    management techniques in their daily lives.
  • Provides practical assistance and advice on daily living tasks such as budget management,
    transportation, employment, time management, and other tasks
  • Mediates family disputes
  • Assists therapist with crisis intervention
  • Observes families’ interactions and behavior and shares observations with therapist to better enable therapist to identify treatment needs
  • Assist therapist with case management tasks, coordinating and collaborating with other service providers, and linking New Pathways Youth Services Inc., Intensive In-Home Services clients with external programs or services
  • Participates in wraparound team meetings in ongoing effort to enlist existing supports and identify problem areas and needs, strategies, and service objectives
  • Documents case activities for both service and billing purposes
  • Notifies Clinical Supervisor of workload, case activity, service barriers, and procedural problems in staff and other meetings
  • Attends weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly training and meetings
  • Agrees to provide at least 10 hours a week per client of therapeutic direct services to New Pathways Youth Services Inc. Intensive In-Home Services clients and families and bill accordingly
  • Caseload of at least two clients for part-time contractors or at least four clients for full time contractors
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional- Trainee will require mandatory weekly supervision to meet licensure requirements
