Looking for an individual to join our team as an irrigation technician. Crew leader position also available for the right applicant.

We are a local contracting business specializing in custom sustainable landscape construction and garden cultivation throughout SW Washington and Portland Metro. We also do repair work for existing irrigation systems, water features, drainage systems, and rain catchment. We do hard work that is very rewarding. We are a team of artists creating or modifying outdoor spaces while keeping a supportive and fun work environment.

We’re a growing company and looking for someone experienced with irrigation and ready to grow their career with us.

The irrigation tech:

*performs irrigation evaluation and repairs for our residential, commercial, agricultural, and multi-family customers.

*executes installation of new irrigation systems for new landscape installations, coordinating with project manager/foreperson.

*adjusts irrigation schedule as needed for weather and plantings for routine maintenance customers

*evaluates electrical, hydraulic, ecological aspects of existing water features.

*executes installation of electrical and hydraulic components of new water features

*assists with construction projects as needed

*listens carefully to customer needs, makes recommendations or facilitates follow on irrigation/water feature/hardscape/softscape/home repair projects.

Key Competencies Needed:

• Proper installation and function of sprinklers, rotors, diaphragm valves, manifolds, backflow devices, electronic controllers, pvc, galvanized, copper, in-line drip, punch-in emitters, micro-sprayers, funny pipe, hdpe, polybutylene,
• Operation of diagnostic equipment such as wire tracers, toners, and volt-ohm meters
• Operate equipment, such as: mini-skid steer and all its attachments (forks, trencher, tiller, bucket, and grade rake), mini-excavator, tractor, wood-chipper, chainsaw, pneumatic drill, rotary hammer, plate compactor, aerator, pressure washer, cut-off saw, trash pump, hard edger, weed eater, blower, power shears, etc.
• Assure proper use, care and inventory of company vehicle, equipment and tools assigned
• Valid Driver License with approved driving record
• Develop and maintain a positive work relationship with peers and other team members
• Carry out daily administrative tasks timely and accurately

Requirements:

• 2 years field experience in landscape irrigation installation, repair, and or construction.
• Proficiency with electrical diagnosis equipment used with low-voltage wiring
• Working knowledge of irrigation hydraulics and irrigation principles
• Irrigation plan reading, Specifications and system component layout
• Valid Driver License with approved driving record
• Able to lift 50 lbs overhead
