Who We Are:

The mission of the Greater New Orleans Jewish Community Center is to promote and ensure the well-being of our Jewish community and to instill an understanding of Judaism and its heritage by providing a Center where all can enjoy, learn, experience and share in quality activities in a Jewish environment.

The Night Custodian ensures cleanliness and upkeep of a multi-use facility hosting children's, fitness, swimming, and elderly activities. Key responsibilities include cleaning rooms, bathrooms, and hallways. Vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, and assisting with furniture relocation. Candidates should possess foundational cleaning knowledge and be open to specialized training tailored to our facility's needs. Their role is vital in providing all users a clean and inviting environment.

What You'll Do:

• Cleans and maintains classrooms, common areas, offices, program spaces, bathrooms, and building grounds in general.
• Removes and disposes trash, recycling, and other waste following the appropriate policies.
• Vacuum classrooms, offices, fitness areas, locker rooms and other areas within the building. 
• Cleaning bathroom fixtures.
• Sweep and mop classrooms, hallway floors, bathrooms, locker rooms, office and other public areas. 
• Sweeps all floors and stairways. 
• Washes windows and glass doors. 
• Stocks bathrooms with necessary supplies and paper goods. 
• Assists in moving heavy objects such as: furniture and equipment for meetings, performances and a variety of other purposes. 
• Attend in service training for custodial service employees as required for continued employment. 
• relations with other school employees, courtesy to the public, and in devotion to the job. 
• Uses cleaning tools and other products to create a clean, healthy environment. 
• Ability to work efficiently and take responsibility for a section of the building.
• Ability to work as part of the maintenance team as well as with the entire staff
• Willingness to do tasks outside of your normal responsibilities if necessary
• Willingness to work on some national holidays as well as holidays specific to our building.
• Ensure all nightly room set-up requirements are satisfied

What You'll bring:

• Previous Custodian experience is highly preferred. 
• Excellent Customer Service Skills.

Work Schedule:

3pm-Midnight, weekly schedule is subject to Change depending on the needs of the organization. Flexible

Pay Range: $12.00 - $19.00 / HR Depending On Experience
