Job Description: Midnight Hospital Screening Therapist, Wayne County

Department: Crisis Services

New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Schedule: Full time; Midnight, Shift-based schedule as determined by Crisis Services Director; Four, 10-hour shifts each week from 8:00 pm - 6:00 am

Reports To: Director of Crisis Services / Supervisor of Crisis Services

Compensation:$28 - $38/ hour; Hourly Employee. Commensurate with experience. Signing bonuses are available for eligible candidates

Position Summary:

The Hospital Screening Therapist, Wayne County, role is a full-time position comprised of multiple clinical and administrative responsibilities related to the Crisis Intervention Program which requires a primary placement at Children's Hospital of Michigan, Detroit.

  • Ability to work well on a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Provides Crisis Stabilization Services to consumers, as scheduled, in accordance with professional standards and the policies/procedures of the facility.
  • Triages incoming crisis calls as required to effectively and efficiently manage consumers in crisis.
  • Deploys and reports to Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, as a primary placement within the Wayne County community setting.
  • Possesses ability to resolve all crisis situations appropriately.
  • Communicates daily with Crisis Stabilization clinical and administrative staff regarding clinical and administrative issues/activities.
  • Completes Pre-Admission Reviews and Utilization Review assignments.
  • Completes documentation as required by the clinic’s policies/procedures.
  • Attends meetings as required.
  • Actively participates as a positive member of the clinic environment.
  • Fulfills all initial and ongoing training requirements.
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Master’s degree and valid clinical license in social work, professional counseling, or psychology required. Must be able to work well with all types of people and all populations including children, adolescents, and adults. Must have approved driving record.

Working Conditions: Position is community based with a primary placement at and deployment to Children's Hospital, Detroit, in the Wayne County community setting with work that may also be performed from home. The workspace should be quiet and professional.Staff is to always dress professionally per Employee Handbook and be prepared to be actively involved with consumers.
