New North Citizens' Council, Inc. is Hiring an Outreach Worker Near Orchard, MA

Summary: To provide outreach services and education to intravenous drug users and other substance abusing population.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides outreach services to all participants to insure they are provided with the appropriate assessment and coordination of these services.
  • Provides support to the participants so they can make appropriate decisions for themselves.
  • To provide extensive outreach to include door-to-door, on the street, abandoned buildings and private homes when needed.
  • To encourage Latino and African American population who are intravenous drug users to attend educational groups and receive outreach services.
  • Attends sponsored New North Citizens' Council, Inc. (NNCC) activities and other community events as appropriate.
  • To facilitate educational groups on HIV/AIDS. STD, Health issues and Harm reduction to heighten the awareness.
  • Assist participants to identify appropriate programs for necessary resources such as detox, mental health, food, clothes, STD and HIV/AIDS counseling and testing.
  • Attends bi-weekly clinical supervision and direct supervision.
  • Prepares reports required on a timely basis.
  • Provides accurate documentation on all clients.
  • To attend educational programs to keep up-to-date on HIV/AIDS and other health issues.
  • Has a clear understanding of the Program Work Plan and participates in accomplishing each goal.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) with one to three months of related experience and training. CADAC certifiable. Must be knowledgeable on HIV/AIDS/STD and TB health issues.
