- Performs miscellaneous errands, such as carrying mail to and from the post office, transporting residents to the doctor’s office and other activities, and driving employees to preferred providers for emergency treatment.
- Performs any various work assignments as may be required.
- Know and respect residents’ rights.
- Informs and supports residents in exercising their rights.
- Ensure protected health information is kept confidential.
- Reports complaints made by residents to the supervisor.
- Reports all allegations of resident abuse, neglect, and/or misappropriation of resident property.
- Follows established safety policies and procedures.
- Observes safety needs of residents as indicated in care plan; participates in restraint reduction program.
- Wears and/or uses safety equipment and supplies when indicated and adequately trained to use.
- Demonstrates job-specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations.
- Attends and participates in scheduled in-service training, educational classes, and meetings to maintain current certification as mandated by regulatory agencies and company policies.
- Participates in the QAA process.
- Primarily light in nature with lifting 20 pounds maximum with frequent sitting and operating of hand and foot controls;
- Reaching, Seeing, must be capable to assist passengers in and out of vehicle.
- Works safely, ensuring that safe work practices are used not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace.
- Reports any safety violations or hazards to the supervisor.
- Comply with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Adhere to policy on Drug-Free Workplace.
- Interact tactfully, diplomatically, and humanely with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment that ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights, and physical safety of each resident and center guest.
- Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code standards.
