New Life Center is Hiring a Family Advocate Near Goodyear, AZ
New Life Center is seeking an individual who is a passionate survivor advocate and is interested in joining the New Life Center team working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The Family Advocate is an integral part of the Residential Department at New Life Center and the point of first contact for survivors, and their children, who reside in New Life Center's Emergency Shelter program.
*FULL TIME OPENING* Sunday - Thursday 9am - 6pm
JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Advocate is responsible for providing comprehensive trauma-informed support services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking through New Life Center's Residential Services Department. The Family Advocate will provide trauma-informed supportive services to survivors through advocacy, safety planning, and referrals in order to improve the safety, quality of life, and resiliency of survivors who receive services from New Life Center. The Family Advocate position upholds New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.
What You Will Do:
- Facilitate high-quality and trauma-informed support services and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking in New Life Center's Residential Department.
- Provide culturally and linguistically relevant services to all survivors and their families, including women, men, children, LGBTQ , and survivors of diverse ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate with others across the agency to assist survivors with achieving self-defined goals.
- Be a passionate advocate for New Life Center's mission, vision, and core values of compassion, resilience, equity, and community.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Any combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in social work, women and gender studies, social justice, counseling, or related field.
- Valid Arizona driver's license and insurance.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
- Currently possess, or have the ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance **
- Successfully complete National FBI background check **
- CPR/1st Aid Certified. **
- A negative TB test is required. **
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption **
**New Life Center will cover costs of these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.
