New Jersey Respiratory, Inc. is Hiring a Clinical Respiratory Therapist, Vent Management (PT) - NS Near Clark, NJ

We are looking to add a skilled respiratory therapist to our team. In this role, it will be your job to provide treatment to patients who are struggling with breathing and related cardiopulmonary problems. You will be tasked with evaluating clients’ lung capacities, treating them with oxygen mixtures and various types of equipment.

To do well in this role, you should hold a degree in the field and be knowledgeable about its latest developments. Since this work involves working directly with patients, you should also have excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients who are dealing with issues related to breathing and related cardiopulmonary problems.
  • Provide emergency care to patients who if needed.
  • Set up and operate various types of machinery and equipment.
  • Educate patients on how to use breathing equipment themselves.
  • Monitor the progress of patients by performing tests at regular intervals.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in respiratory therapy or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • State license required to practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate commonly used types of respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations.

Physical and Emotional Demands: Good physical and emotional health. As the Respiratory Therapist may be required to stand or sit for long periods of time, lift and move patients, and work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, and home healthcare.

Exposure Risks: Normal work routine could involve exposure to blood and body fluids. Responsible for following OSHA guideline standard and the use of universal precautions.

Working Conditions: Hours indicated by the residents and community's needs. Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.

If your assignment involves caring for individuals on life-support, where having a therapist in-house is required by law, you will need to make arrangements to come to work during inclement weather. These arrangements can be in coordination with NJRA, and may involve alternative modes of transportation, such as a taxi, or showing up to work earlier or staying at work later then your scheduled shift.
