Description

This position is an evolving role as the infrastructure evolves from an On-Prem model to a cloud architecture model.

Responsible for the implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission-critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for Microsoft Active Directory. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigate and analyze the feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications. Identifies methods, and solutions, to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department.

  • Responsible to the support and maintenance of Microsoft Servers, including Exchange 2010, O365, DNS, AD, and SQL
  • Assist in the support of all desktops, networking systems, and phone management systems. NJHA is currently moving into a UCaaS model.
  • Responsible for the proactive identification of and release of system patches, bug fixes, and enhancements which ensures meeting performance and operation criteria.
  • Routinely reviews capacity, response time, and other end-to-end system metrics.
  • Recommends standards, policies, and procedures consistent with corporate objectives.
  • Provides 3rd level support for all other IT functions to ensure timely resolutions, feedback, and updates.
  • Operates a test environment (lab) in a clean, safe, and organized fashion.
  • Ensures accurate up-to-date and fully disseminated documentation about infrastructure design and security standards.
  • Provide training and mentoring in various technical areas and ensure appropriate training.
  • Facilitates communications through effective questioning and listening.
  • Develops strategic and technical plans that are clear and realistic.
  • Effectively establishes priorities; manages multiple concurrent projects to define and manage efforts to committed schedules.
  • Ability to design and configure test environments for the development of systems.
  • Abides by the terms and conditions of the Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
  • An understanding of cloud architectures to include cloud security models.
  • Knowledge of Cisco/Meraki LAN WAN methodologies.

Qualifications


Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in systems engineering. Experienced with IT feasibility studies, analysis, design, development, test, and implementation plan methodologies. Ability to develop, set, and implement IT standards. Experienced with the selection, implementation, and integration of third-party software, hardware, and services. Experienced with help desk support, networking, telecommunications, computing platforms (hardware and operating systems,) security systems and services, and data center systems are also required. Strong experience with O365 is required. Strong experience with various desktops (Intel-based), servers (Intel and RISC), storage and workgroup platform environments, and operating systems (e.g., Windows). Proven ability in the utilization of research and 3rd party information in the evaluation of technologies. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong working knowledge of drive clustering and VMWare is also a requirement.
