Details:

• Under the direct supervision of New Horizon Family Health Services Lead Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician shall assist the Pharmacist in performing all routine tasks and in managing and coordinating all aspects of the Pharmacy Department in accordance with established policies and procedures set forth by the Corporation and within the constraints as stated by the State Board of Pharmacy Act.

Experience and Skills:

Education:

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacist (ASHP) per SC Board of Pharmacy regulations

Licensure/Certification:

• Must have State Certified Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the SC Board of Pharmacy
• Must have a current National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (PTCB or ExCPT)

Knowledge and Skills:

• Minimum 3 years pharmacy technician experience
• Knowledge of medical brand and generic names along with pharmaceutical insurance and third party payment systems
• Must be able to follow detailed verbal and written instructions, establish and maintain legible pharmacy records, gain confidence and cooperation of patients
• Must have a courteous, professional attitude, strong communication skills, ability to work in teams, and attention to detail
