JOB DESCRIPTION – Communications Assistant

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The administra=ve assistant will provide general office support and crea=ve support to ensure that
communica=on objec=ves suppor=ng the church’s mission are being met.
POSITION REPORTING LEVEL: Executive Director
JOB TYPE: Non-exempt Part-Time: 20 hours/week

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform general office du=es (answering phones, copying, typing, filing, etc.)
  • Provide administra=ve support to New Hope Work Teams
  • Maintain the church-wide calendar for internal events
  • Assist with the coordination of special events and other church-wide activities, ensuring that
they are on schedule
  • Communication Point of Contact

o Assist with the creation of graphics for church-wide events
o Assists with social media and website content (including ensuring print materials and

our online presence are aligned with New Hope branding guidelines)
o Compile Sunday sermon notes and announcements for distribu=on

  • Cross-train as a backup for funerals, volunteer scheduling, etc.
  • Perform addi=onal du=es as needed

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma, College experience preferred
Experience: 6 months – 1 year of office experience
Special Skills: Computer knowledge of Microsoft platform – Excel & Word, basic computer skills,
organizational skills, knowledge of office equipment – copier, postage meter, etc.
