New Hope of Indiana is seeking a 1099 Contract Recreation Therapist .The Recreation Therapist will be a contractor who is responsible for managing their caseload, billable units, supplies, and documentation within New Hope of Indiana guidelines. Therapists are paid for billable units only.

About the Job: Recreation Therapist
As the Recreation Therapist you will provide holistic, purposeful interventions specifically designed to meet the capabilities, needs, and interests of the individual being served through the Recreation Therapy program at New Hope of Indiana. You will have a person-centered approach allowing the individual, with the support of their team, to determine what areas of concern need to be addressed, choose what variety of recreation activities they would benefit from, and how their leisure can be developed and used to enhance their way of life.
What You Will Do: Recreation Therapist

• Provide therapeutic sessions in the community and in home; and occasionally at New Hope of Indiana when needed
• Maintain reliable transportation
• Communicate with new referrals, Schedule initial interviews
• Assess new clients through observation, interview, & communication with individual and their team
• Request desired units & submit outcomes to case manager and team; Set schedules, adjusting as needed for unit allotment, & collects ISP, Intake Application, and BSP
• Maintain current ISP and BSP, Knowledgeable of medical needs and risks
• Write, review, & revise outcomes & goals
• Plan each session, targeting desired outcomes with a variety of activities: Complete activity session plan, tracking preparation time
• Make accommodations within planning for specific needs, such as but not limited to communication, making choices, activity schedule, etc.
• Document observations, participation, progress, & reactions from each session; Complete Progress Note for each session tracking session time and units used.
• Billing: track weekly units & adjusting schedule to maintain units, ensuring there is no over usage
• Complete monthly summary for each client, including progress toward & revision of goals, observations & client participation; uploaded to DDRS
• Collaborate with individuals' support teams on a regular basis about observations, participation, concerns, & progress
• Maintain CTRS with continuing education and conferences. Stay current with community and therapeutic resources

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Must have obtained a Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation with certification CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) & experience working with individuals with disabilities.
