New Hope Christian Academy is Hiring a School Librarian Near Memphis, TN

Responsibilities:

Demonstrate a love for God and His children.
Integrate a Biblical worldview into all aspects of the day.
Create a library culture that is warm and friendly, full of joy, curiosity, and care.
Creates and teaches lessons and experiences related to information, digital literacy, and digital

citizenship.

Creates engaging book displays and bulletin boards to promote books and reading.
Seek and welcome opportunities to read stories at assemblies and during class time.
Organizes parent volunteers for the library.
Has a passion for consuming, sharing, and creating content in all different forms— books, podcasts,

articles, etc.—and can model this excitement for our students and faculty.

Continue to curate a collection of materials that reflect the students in the school and the rich diversity of

the world the Lord created.

Helps and instructs students in the choice and use of library materials.
Collaborates with classroom teachers to plan and teach instructional units, learning strategies, and

activities that benefit from library resources.

Fosters a partnership with reading teachers that guides students in selecting, browsing, and book sharing

and encourages reading to improve academic achievement and recreational reading.

Encourages and schedules class visits to the library. Works with teachers to ensure successful visitations

and delivers whatever assistance is necessary during the visitation.

Inspires careful use of library media holdings as valuable learning resources.
Provides materials and resources that support the curriculum and address student needs.
Informs teachers, students, and administrators of available materials, equipment, and services in the

library media center to meet their information needs.

Manages library media budget to support the instructional program.
Demonstrate a commitment to personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
Knowledgeable of social and emotional development in elementary children.
Actively engage as a school community member by attending events, staff meetings, discipleship, and

other opportunities.

Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the principal.

Qualifications and Attributes:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Library Science or Education
Teacher Licensure is preferred.
Professing Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and is committed to Christ-centered

education.

Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
Have a track record of holding high expectations for every student and faithfully working to foster

student development and achievement.
