Our client, a well-known company located in Thomasville, is now hiring Medical Billing Specialists! If you are interested in a medical office position in Thomasville, this could be the position for you! As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will provide critical support to medical providers by completing the important administrative tasks that are vital to the functioning of our healthcare system Medical Billing Specialists, also known as Insurance Billing Specialists, are responsible for translating every healthcare service rendered, into a standardized medical billing code that can be used to obtain payment from insurance companies.
salary: $15 - $18 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities

• Entering charges daily including surgeries and hospital visits. This involves knowledge of coding rules and making sure the claims go out correctly the first time. This also may include verifying insurance information as needed.
• Processing claims electronically every day. Printing and mailing the claims that need to go on paper, attaching any documentation or consents as needed.
• Processing secondary claims by attaching the primary insurance explanation of benefits to the secondary claim and mailing along with any documentation or consents that may be needed.
• Working outstanding claims daily. This involves checking to see why insurance has not responded/paid and/or denied. Correcting the claim and resubmitting. If denied this may include submitting an appeal to the insurance company.
• Posting electronic remits and hard copy checks that come in the mail.
• Perform related work as necessary.
