New Heights Charter School of Brockton is Hiring a High School Math Teacher Near Brockton, MA

New Heights Charter School is Massachusetts’ only public school that involves all grades (6-12) in the Early College approach. Nearly all our 11th and 12th graders are full-time students on a college campus with younger students earning college credits at the school. You will join a committed, creative team of educators who provide academic and social-emotional support to young people coming from high-need backgrounds ensuring they are college and career ready. We support our staff with a wide array of professional development opportunities and coaching. As a teacher or staff member, you will have the opportunity to join in the development and fine tuning of our curriculum, school policies, and enrichment activities. At New Heights, we respect and honor all community members, their diverse backgrounds, knowledge, and experiences.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in core content, elective, and advisory periods.
  • Use technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by teaching and establishing routines and rituals.
  • Encourage, monitor, and provide feedback on the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete grade books and other anecdotal records of students' academic and behavioral progress and development.
  • Provide consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior through phone or electronic means and at parent/guardian and teacher conferences.
  • Participate in department and school meetings and events, instructional coaching, parent conferences, and leadership opportunities for teachers.
  • Collaborate with school support staff (Special Education and English Second Language) to provide access to knowledge for all students
  • Collaborate between Math Teacher and Math Lab teacher to ensure alignment
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Ability to use or learn relevant technology (Google Classroom, Zoom, IXL, Etc.)
