Law Enforcement- Chief of Police
The City of New Hampton, Iowa (Population 3,494) is accepting applications for Chief of Police. This is an executive level position requiring expert managerial and leadership skills. The successful applicant will be responsible for the health, safety, welfare and peace of the citizens of the City of New Hampton. Duties will include but are not limited to; training and supervising staff, performing specialized and technical law enforcement duties, community relations, confidential work associated with law enforcement, protection of life and property, crime prevention and preparing the departmental budget. This at will position is appointed by and under the general direction of the Mayor and City Council.
ILEA certification and a bachelor’s degree with major course work in public administration, criminal justice or a related field or a minimum of five years experience in a related field is required. A comprehensive background check is required.
The City of New Hampton offers excellent benefits including health insurance, IPERS, vacation, sick time. The starting salary is $69,500/year. July 1stincrease to $75,700!
