New Hampshire Catholic Charities is Hiring a Special Education Teacher / Case Manager Near Rochester, NH

Description

St. Charles School, a program of Catholic Charities New Hampshire, is looking for a Special Education Teacher/Case Manager to join our dedicated team of special education teachers, paraprofessionals, behavioral consultants, and administrators. 

The Special Education Teacher/Case Manager will take the leading role in writing and supervising the implementation of the IEP for students on their caseload. They assist the classroom teacher in providing the specialized instruction on the student’s IEP. They also provide consultation to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals, and make recommendations to school administration regarding program, resources and curriculum.

St. Charles School provides academic, social, emotional and behavioral services in a therapeutic setting for male and female students in grades K-8. We are a private provider of special education serving public school students. Our curriculum is non-religious. We provide a safe and nurturing environment to help students heal, build meaningful connections; and over time, develop the positive behaviors to successfully reintegrate into traditional school environments.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

· Oversees specialized instruction for students on case load, implementing IEP goals.

· Provides individualized and/or small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.

· Develops suitable curricula and effective teaching methods based on assessment of students' needs and the goals and objectives on the IEP.

· Prepares written student lesson plans for specialized instruction with accommodations/ modifications based on student needs and IEPs.

· Consults with classroom teacher to provide support regarding the implementation of the IEP accommodations.

· Supervises the implementation of IEP accommodations and modifications for each student on Assists classroom teacher with selection of appropriate learning aides and supplies.

· Coordinates annual state testing school wide, trains staff to implement state testing.

Requirements

· Current New Hampshire teachers’ certificate as well as current certification in special education with endorsements 1900 General Special Education (required)

· Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a field of K-12 Education. 

· 2 years of experience working in a special education position

· Experience working with at-risk and high-risk children is preferred

· Knowledge of and ability to implement de-escalation, behavior intervention, and behavior management techniques
