New Directions Healthcare is a fully licensed State and Federal Substance Abuse Treatment clinic in Erie, Pennsylvania. Our purpose is to provide a positive difference every day in the lives of people with an opioid addiction utilizing medication, counseling, and life skills development. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Assistant.

In this role, you will work at the front desk of our clinic and provide assistance to our patients. The hours for this position are the following: Monday and Tuesday 8 AM ET to 6 PM ET and Wednesday 8 AM ET to 4 PM ET.

You will be responsible for corresponding with patients, maintaining the organization of our office, and ensuring that our environment is welcoming, calm, and quiet for our patients.

Experienced Medical Assistant Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet patients and other visitors to our clinic
• Answer patient questions and provide assistance and information
• Answer phone calls
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients
• Register new patients and complete intake information
• Scan medical records and file
• Obtain UDS from patients
• Process bills, invoices, and patient payments in office
• Stock rooms daily and tidy up patient exam rooms and lobby
• Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
• Manage inventory of necessary office supplies and coordinate reordering
• Ensure that the waiting room environment remains quiet, calm, and welcoming
• Uphold the positive reputation of our clinic by always treating visitors in a friendly, welcoming, and compassionate manner

Experienced Medical Assistant Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a certificate program preferred
• Friendly and compassionate disposition
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Dedication to maintaining confidentiality of all patient records
• Have the ability to work Monday and Tuesday 8 AM ET to 6 PM ET and Wednesday 8 AM ET to 4 PM ET
• Must be proficient in WORD, EXCEL and computer skills
• CPR, PA Child Clearances, and FBI clearances required
• 1 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant / Administrative Assistant or in a relevant role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
