New Directions Healthcare is Hiring a Medical Biller Near Erie, PA

New Directions Healthcare is a fully licensed State and Federal Substance Abuse Treatment clinic in Erie, Pennsylvania. Our purpose is to provide a positive difference every day in the lives of people with an opioid addiction utilizing medication, counseling, and life skills development. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Biller.

As a Medical Biller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. You will be responsible for handling a variety of administrative tasks, as well as managing the medical billing process. Your primary duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Medical Billing:

· Generating and submitting medical claims to insurance companies.

· Verifying insurance eligibility and coverage for patients.

· Following up on unpaid claims and resolving any billing discrepancies.

· Processing payments, refunds, and adjustments accurately.

· Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of billing regulations and coding standards.

2. Administrative Support – As Needed:

· Greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

· Scheduling appointments and managing the healthcare provider's calendar.

· Answering phone calls, responding to inquiries, and directing calls to appropriate personnel.

· Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail and email.

· Maintaining electronic and paper records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

· Assisting with other administrative tasks and projects as needed.

3. Collaboration:

· Collaborating with healthcare providers, nurses, and other staff members to ensure efficient patient care.

· Communicating effectively with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options.

· Working closely with the billing department to reconcile accounts and resolve billing issues.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification in medical billing.

· Previous experience in medical billing and administrative support roles is highly desirable.

· Proficiency in medical billing software.

· Strong understanding of medical billing procedures and insurance regulations.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
