**Job Title: Mental Health Therapist**
**Overview:**
Northeast Wyoming BOCES is seeking a full time Mental Health Therapist. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and guidance to individuals dealing with various mental health challenges. You will utilize your expertise in psychology, counseling techniques, and therapeutic interventions to help clients navigate through their emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues. Your compassionate approach and commitment to improving the well-being of others will be essential in fostering a supportive therapeutic environment.

**Responsibilities:**
1. **Assessment and Evaluation:**
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand clients' mental health concerns, including their emotional, behavioral, and cognitive patterns.
- Collaborate with clients to identify underlying issues, triggers, and contributing factors to their mental health challenges.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and diagnostic criteria to formulate accurate diagnoses.
2. **Individualized Treatment Planning:**
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of each client.
- Incorporate evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, etc., into treatment plans.
- Set achievable objectives and milestones to track progress throughout the therapeutic process.
3. **Therapeutic Interventions:**
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions to address clients' mental health issues effectively.
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on coping strategies, relaxation techniques, communication skills, etc.
- Employ crisis intervention techniques when necessary to manage acute mental health crises and ensure the safety of clients.
4. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality and informed consent in all client interactions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for interdisciplinary teams, referral sources, and insurance companies as required.
5. **Collaboration and Referral:**
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Refer clients to specialized services or community resources for additional support, such as psychiatric evaluation, substance abuse treatment, vocational rehabilitation, etc.
6. **Professional Development:**
- Stay abreast of current research, best practices, and emerging trends in the field of mental health therapy through continuous education and professional development activities.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer consultation, and interdisciplinary meetings to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
**Qualifications:**
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Licensure or certification as a Mental Health Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, or Marriage and Family Therapist (depending on jurisdiction).
- Demonstrated experience in providing counseling or therapy services to individuals with diverse mental health needs.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathetic listening skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and ethical standards governing mental health practice.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing caseloads and client needs.
- Commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity in working with diverse populations.
- Computer proficiency for documentation and electronic health record (EHR) management.
