New Bloom Labs is Hiring a Chemistry Laboratory Director Near Chattanooga, TN

New Bloom Labs seeks a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to oversee a high-throughput hemp/cannabis analytical laboratory.

Summary

The Laboratory Director is the responsible person (RP) for all laboratory procedures and all employees within the technical hemp testing laboratory. The Laboratory Director is expected to act as the technical supervisor in the laboratory and is expected to work as often as needed on daily bench and production work, if necessary. In depth knowledge of all procedures associated with preparation of samples, quality controls, relevant testing methodologies, technical manuals and job descriptions, laboratory inventory and results review and interpretation in all areas of the laboratory. The Laboratory Director shall be able to fill in any technical job when and if needed and should be knowledgeable of all technical roles and job descriptions.

It is the responsibility of the Laboratory Director to ensure that adequate and qualified personnel, facilities and quality assurance and control are maintained at all times. It is the duty of the Laboratory Director to be knowledgeable on all testing and result interpretations through ongoing research and development and sample data review. The Laboratory Director serves as the resident expert on all analytical laboratory testing procedures and result interpretation. As the resident expert, the Laboratory Director is in charge of communication with the clients around technical questions and laboratory result interpretation. It is expected that the Laboratory Director will enforce, maintain and follow all procedures outlined in the New Bloom Labs QA Plan.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is a management role

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely has direct contact with caustic chemicals. Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing will be required. This requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
