New Beginnings - Ending Domestic Violence is Hiring a Home Safe Assistant Program Director Near Seattle, WA

In our Home Safe Program, we support survivors by welcoming them into temporary housing in their own apartment, providing individualized advocacy to support self-determination and healing.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director will collaborate with the Home Safe Program Director to provide leadership and support for the day-to-day operations of the Home Safe Program and supervise Survivor Advocates. We are seeking a leader with a passion for social justice, and who is also a collaborative team player. Expertise in domestic violence advocacy and staff supervision is highly desirable. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to racial and gender equity.

REPORTS TO: Home Safe Program Director

HOURS: 36 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 4 days onsite, 1 day remote if desired. Occasional evening or weekend hours as appropriate to meet program needs.

COMPENSATION: $43.11 per hour with medical, dental & vision benefits; monthly paid trainings; training allowance; paid leave; life insurance; retirement. This is an salaried, Exempt position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

High Quality Program Services

· Supervises the team of 4 Survivor Advocates, ensuring that high quality survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive services are provided to all program participants.

· Monitors innovative service approaches and participant outcomes to identify recommendations for promoting equity and success for participants.

· Serves as primary contact person for participant referrals to the program and oversees screening process for program.

· Provides helpful and sensitive interactions with program participants as needed.

· Responds to participant or facility emergencies which may require action outside of normal business hours.

· Ensures program adherence to contract requirements.

· Trains staff on Salesforce and oversees the accuracy of documentation.

High Quality Program Operations

· Provides flexible support and back-up to the Program Director as needed.

· Collaborates with the Program Director to create and update program policies and procedures.

· Creates and updates forms and informational handouts, and coordinates translation of documents.

· Ensures compliance with record retention and destruction schedules.

· Coordinates weekly team meetings currently via Zoom. May change format in the future. Supports Home Safe Facilities Manager, as needed.

Data Integrity

· Collaborates with the Grants and Compliance Manager and Data Specialist, to serve as database point person for Home Safe Program staff.

· Provides oversight of program data, ensuring data entered in the program database is on time, accurate, complete, and appropriate.

Community Networking

· Networks with community partners to strengthen and build relationships and promote New Beginnings’ services. Attends community meetings as requested by the Program Director.

Resource Development

· Participates in fundraising events and activities as appropriate.

· Provides program information, stories and data as needed by the development team to build donor support and pursue funding opportunities.

Team Work and Professional Development

· Actively contributes to a positive team environment to ensure the collaboration needed for provision of high-quality services to survivors.

· Facilitates meetings as needed.

· Participates in all staff meetings, Home Safe Program team meetings, planning days and agency in-service trainings.

· Actively seeks collaboration with other New Beginnings programs.

· Attends and documents trainings to ensure compliance with Washington Administrative Code training requirements for domestic violence advocates.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Commitment to the mission of New Beginnings and to the needs of domestic violence survivors.
  • Willingness to learn about and promote equity and social justice within and outside of New Beginnings.
  • Significant experience providing services to domestic violence survivors in a human service setting; experience in a domestic violence agency a plus.
  • Knowledge about the dynamics of domestic violence and the impact of trauma on survivors and their children.
  • Knowledge about the intersections between gender-based violence and racism, homophobia and other forms of oppression.
  • A history of program leadership responsibilities, including experience supervising staff, interns and volunteers.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire colleagues and engage them in a proactive and positive manner.
  • Strong conflict management and negotiating skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs.
  • Ability to relate to diverse survivors in a welcoming, supportive, culturally competent manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle crises and juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with data collection and outcomes reporting.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM database a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through and deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain participant confidentiality.
  • Ability to represent New Beginnings in a professional manner to community partners and the broader public.
  • Ability to use supervision effectively to gain support and enhance performance.
  • Ability to engage in constructive self-care activities to manage secondary trauma.
  • Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
