Job Description
Nevada State University (NSU) invites applications for the position of Standardized Patient. The Standardized Patient will accurately and consistently portray the history, personality, physical findings, emotional structure and response pattern of an actual patient, family member, health care provider, or needed role during nursing student training simulations.

Core Responsibilities:

• Portray all aspects of the patient scenario, including history of current problem, affect/behavior, and physical findings in a standardized, accurate, and reliable manner.
• Provide written and face-to-face verbal feedback to the student and supervising faculty member.
• Accept ongoing feedback and incorporate that feedback into case simulation.
• Respond to e-mails in a timely fashion.
• Be on time and keep scheduled appointments.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the NSU Mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, which is provided in advance.
• Must have reliable transportation to attend all scheduled simulation sessions.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (NSU does not sponsor employment-related visas

• Previous experience as a standardized patient in simulation training.

Work Hours:
Variable as needed.
Salary:
$18.00-20.00/hour, dependent on experience.
