Job Description
BE THE DIFFERENCE. Are you a passionate policymaker and experienced, inclusive project manager? Nevada State College (NSC) invites you to apply for the position of Assistant Director of Culture, Planning, and Policy. Reporting to the director of the newly formed Division of Culture, Planning, and Policy (CPP), as assistant director (A.D.) you will be integral in shaping our intrepid team as we provide critical support in advancing the goals and objectives of the college. Through research, development and implementation of best practices that align resources, people, plans, and processes, you will collaborate in cultivating an empowered and efficient campus culture, upholding Nevada State's commitment to be an agent of social justice and to foster the safest environment possible.
To assist the director on projects with significant scope, the ideal candidate will be data-informed and big picture-oriented to ensure consistency with our institutional mission and vision in all we do. Using your proven interpersonal skills, you will coordinate collaboration and communication between multiple internal campus departments and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal mandates and generate consensus, buy-in, and integration among stakeholders.
As assistant director, you will actively support the conception, planning, project management and implementation of programs and events that enrich engagement across campus. Your experience serving first-generation students will also be essential to supporting our division as we spearhead a significant project related to this work.
Working in partnership with the CPP director, you will create division budget requests and contribute to grant writing and reporting. You will independently manage day-to-day fiscal operations and supervise key division staff members, including student employees, and provide oversight for processes related to the executive reception area.
In this very visible position, you will have a direct impact on public perception of the college and its reputation. As you develop administrative procedures and create external-facing materials, your leadership will be evaluated on intermediate-term results of your actions to articulate goals, priorities, and the vision of the college with discretion and distinction.
