Job Description:

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Follow-Up Biller to join our dynamic team at Nevada Critical Care Consultants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding, with a focus on follow-up procedures to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered.

Responsibilities:

  • Claims Management: Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and other payers promptly and accurately.
  • Follow-Up Procedures: Conduct thorough follow-up on outstanding claims, including denials, underpayments, and appeals, to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring accurate billing information is used for claims submission.
  • Coding Accuracy: Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures, adhering to current coding guidelines and regulations.
  • Payment Posting: Record and reconcile payments received from insurance companies and patients, applying them to the appropriate accounts in the billing system.
  • AR Management: Monitor accounts receivable aging reports, identifying and resolving issues that may impact timely reimbursement.
  • Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and compliance standards related to medical billing and coding, ensuring adherence to all legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical billing and follow-up procedures, preferably in a critical care or healthcare setting.
  • Certification: Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS-P) preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge: Proficient understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Meditech, NextGen).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review complex medical documentation and identify billing discrepancies.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance representatives.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently research and resolve billing issues.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
