Position Title: Clinical Manager

Department: Administrative/Operating Room

Reports To: Director of Field Operations

Job Category: Management

FLSA: Exempt


Position Summary:
The Clinical Manager is a field-based position responsible for the oversight of their assigned region including management of technologists, implementation of NMA policies and protocols, coordination of equipment preventative maintenance, oversight of regional schedule, account maintenance/customer service, and identification of new business opportunities. Implementation of customer service initiatives is one of the key roles of the clinical manager. Accountability for key performance indicators relative to the health of the business in the assigned region is a core responsibility of the position.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide case coverage as needed
  • Provide day-to-day management of technologists and team leads (6-8 Neuro Technicians)
  • Complete annual performance evaluations of technical staff including identifying opportunities for professional development
  • Working with schedulers, manage the clinical schedule and ensure adequate case coverage
  • Communicate and implement clinical and operational policies and protocols
  • Review key performance indicators (KPIs) monthly with the senior management team and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Working with other members of the management team, lead efforts to resolve issues and improve upon KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with account and internal stakeholders through various means including daily presence in the operating room and surgeon offices
  • Working with key stakeholders, provide resolution to escalated customer service issues.
  • Working with technologists to ensure timely close-out of clinical cases.
  • Participate in management call rotation for after-hours scheduling, support, and logistics
  • Appropriately assign oversight to neurotechnologists.
  • Working with the credentialing specialist, insure timely credentialing of new employees and ongoing compliance of existing team members
  • Interviewing prospective neuro technologist hires
  • Complete new employee on-boarding according to checklist
  • Work with the sales and marketing teams to maintain high levels of customer service and identify new opportunities for business.
  • Organizes monthly group calls with their team, Quarterly meetings and team bonding events
  • Provides monthly business reports to field director

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials with little likelihood of harm if established health precautions are followed.
  • The use of protective clothing such as surgical clothing, gloves, glasses and masks.
  • Occasional/frequent travel by motor vehicle and/or air transportation to healthcare facilities located in both urban and rural areas.
  • Variable work schedules that may change from week to week and the possibility of working on weekends.
  • Requires being available during non-scheduled work time

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to stand, turn and stoop among several types of equipment in an operating room suite for a minimum of two (2) hours to a maximum of twelve (12) hours.
  • Ability to apply different types of electrodes to a patient’s anatomy with precision and speed in preparation of monitoring a surgical procedure.
  • Up to 20% travel required

Qualifications:

Education and Certifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Biological Sciences or similar discipline required
  • CNIM
  • Experience/Training:
  • Clinical management experience preferred
  • Two or more years’ experience as IOM clinician

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Clinical competence in the field of intraoperative monitoring.
  • Excellent organizational skills required for management of multiple personnel distributed across a wide geographic area.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of routinely used business metrics
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of programs
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to focus on clinical and business process development
