How you make a difference

The NeuroBehavioral Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is responsible for ensuring compliance with nursing practice standards to promote optimal healthcare delivery at assigned locations. They oversee infection control and nursing education activities, and lead strategies to improve and sustain patient experience scores. Additionally, the ACNO participates in developing new educational and research programs for nursing and patient care services and assumes responsibility for the Chief Nursing Officer's scope of responsibilities in their absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, develops objectives and maintains philosophy for the Nursing department and patient units.
• Collaborates with executive leadership on budgeting, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with staffing coordination, hiring, and disciplinary actions for nursing service personnel.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, licensing requirements, and regulatory agency requirements.
• Conducts staff meetings, participates in hospital-wide meetings, and intervenes in psychiatric and medical crises.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Graduate from an accredited program in nursing. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience

• A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience preferred in a psychiatric or mental health setting
• Two (2) years direct experience in management, leadership, staff education, and nursing practices preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
