Job Description

Job Description

Forensic Treatment Agency is seeking to fill one therapist position. Agency serves a high-need/high-barrier adult population in the Los Angeles area. Agency provides a variety of services that includes: mental health, substance counseling, therapy, psychiatric and medication support, behavioral health, daily living skills, and intensive case management services. The ideal candidate is comfortable with working with high-need/high-barrier adult populations.

Essential Functions

  • Provide individual, couples, and family therapy services, including intake assessments, treatment development, and weekly psychotherapy to clients
  • Conduct bio-psychosocial assessment with clients and family/caregivers. Develop a recovery plan of action and implement services toward recovery.
  • Establish and maintain a therapeutic relationship with the client and family members. Assist clients, families, and significant others in understanding mental illness and gaining their acceptance of and participation in their recovery and psychiatric treatment recommendations
  • Coordinate and implement group therapy under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor
  • Coordinate services with various public and private community health, mental health, and social service agencies to ensure appropriate services for clients.
  • Transport client(s) to connect with necessary community resources, if needed.
  • Participate, coordinate and implement cooperative arrangements and/or team conferences with various inter-disciplinary team members in the development and implementation of the client’s treatment plan and aftercare plan.
  • Provide coverage for other Project 180 locations as needed.
  • Maintain and submit billing records in a timely manner with billing each week, per SSG guidelines
  • Maintain and update client’s files and documentation in accordance with DMH and DHS guidelines

Secondary Functions

  • Provide consultation to agencies and constituents of the community as appropriate
  • Assist with other program activities as pertinent

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work or mental health field from an accredited college or university.
  • Registered social work or MFT intern or licensed social worker/MFT.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination (includes eligible booster/s)
  • Must have own transportation, valid California Driver's License, and proof of automobile insurance coverage.
  • Due to funder requirements, must not be on any type of legal supervision (probation or parole).
  • Maintain and uphold the Agency mission statement, values, policies, procedures, and principles.

Notes

These are M-F full time positions. Full time employees are eligible for full benefits: medical, dental, and optional vision plan. Retirement plan is included. We offer an employee assistance program. Employees also are offered paid time off (11 paid holidays), vacation, and sick leave. Mileage reimbursement is also available.
