Neurabilities is Hiring a Post Doc in Psychology/Neuropsychology Near Farmingdale, NJ

Be a Post-Doctoral Fellow with our interdisciplinary team of experts by providing evaluation and diagnostic services to neurodiverse individuals with neurological, psychological, developmental and/or behavioral concerns. Our “Specialty Care Medical Home” model was developed in the best interest of patients as it brings together professionals from a variety of brain health related disciplines together within one organization. We invite Post-Doctoral Fellows to join our collaborative team of professionals which includes neurologists, developmental pediatricians, neuropsychologists, advanced practice nurses/psychiatric specialists, behavior analysts and other disciplines.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, and a broad experience with a pediatric population.

What to Expect:

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will gain experience with a wide variety of populations, primarily children with developmental disabilities, complex medical and neurological conditions, epilepsy, TBI, learning disabilities, attention problems, behavior problems, autism spectrum disorder, and neuropsychiatric conditions.

What You Will Do:

  • Administer developmental, psychoeducational, psychological, and/or neuropsychological evaluations to patients.
  • Responsible for intake interviews, test administration, scoring, conceptualization, report writing, and patient feedback.
  • Attend individual supervision with one or more of the supervising psychologists as well as weekly group supervision and didactic sessions.
  • Fellows are also welcome to build supervision skills by working with extern level trainees, generally during their second year of training.
  • Opportunities for intervention including executive skills coaching may be available depending on Fellow interest, patient availability, and supervisor discretion.
  • Supervise practicum and other trainees as assigned.
  • Collaborate with our medical providers and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Provide consultation and/or therapy to patients and families.
  • Participate in research as assigned.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical and/or School Psychology from an APA accredited program.
  • APA Accredited Internship required.
  • Pediatric experience required.
  • Autism experience required.
  • ADOS-2 experience/training preferred.
  • Knowledge of current literature and treatment trends in neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Comprehensive test administration competence for developmental, psychoeducational, and neuropsychological measures.
  • Ability to work well with families and other disciplines.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating with team members.
  • Strong independent work skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • For NJ Candidates: eligibility for NJ 3-Year Supervised Permit required.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected, dependent on need.
  • This job operates in both a professional and home office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include light-medium moving and extensive self-positioning.
