What to Expect:

The Hope Ambassador is the first point of contact for anyone inquiring about services from NeurAbilities. The Hope Ambassador creates a welcoming rapport and escorts a prospective patient through the entire intake process, ensuring the patient has an understanding of the services offered by NeurAbilities and how we can best assist in navigating a journey to a life which promotes better health, independence, and well-being for a patient and, by extension, their family.

What You Will Do:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls for NeurAbilities Healthcare. 
  • Schedule all patients for the medical service line (New, Follow up, Neuropsychology, EEG). 
  • Check voice mail throughout the day and return patient calls within a 4-hour time frame.
  •  Log new patients into Salesforce and Advanced MD when appropriate.
  • Cancel and reschedule appointments when needed.
  •  Review Sales Force and update daily for metrics accuracy.
  • Check benefit eligibility for both medical and Behavior services.
  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of both the medical and behavior service lines.
  • Proactively engage with each caller, using scripted questions to better understand the caller’s needs, and share information on the many services which NeurAbilities provides to ascertain services which would be helpful to a patient.
  • Contact clinicians with questions, if necessary, for direction to make an appropriate referral.
  • Call patients back with information and recommendations for services.

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Managed Care, HMO/PPO plans and Authorization/Referral requirements.
  • 1 year of customer service experience in a medical office environment.
  • 1 year of experience as a medical receptionist, scheduling coordinator, or hospital admissions, preferred.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; able to maintain composure when dealing with frustrated or angry patients or family members.
  • Ability to keep some financial records and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Well organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Friendly, welcoming, and service oriented.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and proactively problem solve. Learns quickly from verbal and written instructions. 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Three to five years of health care, customer service, or patient relations experience. 
  • Strong computer, data entry, and typing skills. 
  • Ability to work between multiple technology platforms, learning and utilizing new technology as service evolves.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  •  Ability to multitask and prioritize while maintaining a pleasant and calm demeanor with patients and caregivers.
  •  Excellent verbal communication, written communication and listening skills.
  •  Self-starter and able to successfully work with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • Estimated 10 % travel, dependent on need.
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
  • Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include light-medium moving and extensive self-positioning.
