Objective

NetX is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to work with our Operations team. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience administering Linux servers, knows how to code, and is familiar with modern systems concepts, tools, and design patterns. We’re looking for someone that has experience deploying, managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes.

Responsibilities 

● Develop, augment and support new systems in our platform toolchain: Gitlab, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and others.

● Support and manage a growing farm of nearly 200 production SaaS deployments, including infrastructure, tools, configuration management, automation, Identity & Access Management.

● Work closely with the Development, QA and Support teams to ensure new services are supportable on day one.

● Deploy automation solutions to recurring problems/requests — automate all the things.

● Define and maintain requirements for monitoring/alerting/logging, triage and resolution.

● Ensure 24x7 incident response, participation in on-call rotation, incident root cause analysis, post-mortems, and adherence to SLAs.

● Participate in design reviews.

● Participate in long term strategy for Systems Operations.

● Produce and maintain documentation and records relevant to the areas of responsibility.

● Be a strong advocate for our customers, end users, and stakeholders.

● Must have working experience with Linux (5 years), Kubernetes (3 years), and AWS (3 ).

● Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.

● 5 years as an individual contributor on an IT operations or engineering team where writing code was part of your role.

● Experience with Ansible is a big plus.

● Any previous knowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) products is highly desirable.

Ideal Domain Knowledge

● AWS services expertise in IAM, EC2, EKS, S3; familiar with other services; certification a big plus 

● Kubernetes, including common third-party components like Rancher, cert-manager, Nginx

● Docker, including image development, registry management

● Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines

● Prometheus/Grafana/Loki

● CloudFormation, Ansible, IaC

● Cloudflare, networking, firewalls, DNS

● Linux

● Python, Bash

● Operational management of any/all of Tomcat, Redis, MySQL, Solr
