Network Technical Services Inc is Hiring a Lead Low Voltage Technician Near Livonia, MI

Network Technical Services Inc. is a low-voltage contractor servicing, the Metro Detroit region, though our customer-base has required travel outside of the area on many occasions.

Desired Background & Experience:

  • Management/Configuration/Programming of Various Systems
  • Networks & Switches/Cameras/Telephones/AV/Controlled Access/etc.

Position Description:

In order to continue to strengthen our team and build upon our current offerings, we are always looking for team members with the experience and knowledge within the world of telecommunications.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, have an overall sense for problem solving and have a high standard for work quality. Additionally, the successful candidate will show pride, ownership and accountability for all that they take on.

On an extended level, we are looking for team players who are interested in becoming leaders. As a person who we are hoping will bring much talent and experience to the table and continue to build upon it, this leader will show willingness to coach junior level technicians on their expertise and collaborate with other team members when opportunities arise. This leader will also show initiative and desire to stay on top of the ever-changing landscape of technology.

In a nutshell, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Installation, Integration and Servicing/Troubleshooting of:

  • Copper and Fiber Optic Cabling
  • Data Systems (Structured and Wireless)
  • Telephone Systems (Analog, Digital and VoIP)
  • Access Control Systems
  • Camera Systems (Analog and IP-Based)
  • Audio/Paging Systems (Including Paging Systems)

We do not expect that all candidate will be well versed in all the disciplines listed, but the breadth of your experience will dictate the likelihood that you are the candidate we are looking for.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete Installations to Specs as Indicated on a Blueprint/Drawing or Other Supplied Reference
  • Setup of Computer System Peripherals
  • Service and Troubleshoot Various Equipment & Connectivity Issues
  • Assist with Research Requirements and Provide Solution Ideas as Part of Troubleshooting
  • Ordering of Supplies and Working with Suppliers As Necessary
  • Directly or Indirectly be Involved with the Quoting Process
  • Submit Paperwork and Documentation as Required in a Timely Manner
  • Interface Directly with End Customers in a Professional Manner As Necessary

Requirements:

  • Strong Communication Skills & A Diligent Communicator (Verbal and Written)

  • Possesses Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Abilities (Able to Act Proactively & Reactively)

  • Ability to Work Independently as well as Within a Team Setting
  • Ability to Lead and provide direction to others
  • Strong Sense of Accountability and Integrity & Proven Ability to Display Leadership & Ownership
  • Possess and Maintain a Clean Driving Record and Criminal Record
  • Please Note: This Position will require some travel, including expended stays out of town

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

  • Telephone Programming: 2 years (Preferred)

  • Driver's Class G License (Required)
  • Working at Heights Certificate (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 50% (Preferred)
