Job Summary: Low Voltage Systems Installer completes various tasks and portions of cable installation projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Learn and adhere to all required safety standards;
Complete Hilti training and certification provided by Hilti/NET100;
Ability to listen and follow directions and job instructions;
Demonstrate/Perform correct installation procedures of low voltage systems to include voice & data cabling, audiovisual, security, wireless access and networks;
Install communication outlets in floors and walls;
Learn and apply knowledge of Universal color codes;
Learn and use proper test procedures;
Terminate and test low voltage copper cable (CAT-5E through CAT-6A);
Demonstrate/Perform the proper use of tools to install low voltage systems;
Demonstrate dependability, honesty, and teamwork approach;
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers;
Ability to estimate measurements;
Read and write legible;
Ability to communicate clearly with others;
Other duties and projects as assigned;
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience using hand tools;
Experience in applying universal color codes;
Ability to work and perform tasks on a ladder with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs.;
Good written and verbal communication skills;
Proficiency in understanding cable designation and types;
Ability to work on cable projects of all sizes;
Adherence to regular attendance, and normal scheduled hours. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule determined by client site requirements i.e. early morning and/or evening hours.
Education and Experience:
0 – 5 years’ experience in the low voltage installation industry including, but not limited to, pulling, terminating, splicing, installing, testing, programming and troubleshooting low voltage systems;
High school diploma or GED required. Vocational/Technical/College preparatory courses and basic mathematics courses desirable.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift objects and carry up to 40 lbs.;
Demonstrate/Perform correct use of body mobility functions such as standing while working, walking, climbing and lifting/performing tasks on a ladder with a total weight capacity of 300 lbs., crawling, and use of basic hand tools, while wearing protective equipment and gear.
