NEP GROUP is Hiring a Communication & Social Media Specialist Near Pittsburgh, PA

Overview Of The RoleWe are excited to bring a Communication & Social Media Specialist into NEP’s Global Marketing & Comms team to help us execute a wide variety of marketing and communications projects, including writing internal and external content pieces and managing the company’s corporate social media accounts. The Communication & Social Media Specialist will support a wide range of projects involving different stakeholders and teams across our global company.
To be successful in this role the candidate must be proactive and creative with strong writing skills, a passion for storytelling especially through social media, and excellent project management skills. They must have the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at once and be comfortable with creative problem-solving and working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do: Essential ResponsibilitiesThe Communication & Social Media Specialist Will Support The Vice President Of Global Marketing And Senior PR & Global Communications Manager And Collaborate With Others In The Following Areas
  • Social Media Management
    • Maintain a regular social media editorial calendar for NEP Group’s corporate social accounts (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter) that aligns with NEP’s business goals. Create and schedule social media posts multiple times per week that communicate key initiatives, campaigns and brand messaging, plus monitor all social activity and comments.
    • Develop internal relationships across our global business units and create efficient processes to collect and organize news and information for internal or external (including social) content.
    • Act as NEP’s social community manager, working with the Senior PR & Global Communications Manager to monitor industry trends, relevant news and other opportunities to increase NEP’s share of voice in the space.
    • Monitor and support NEP’s subsidiary social media accounts for branding accuracy and consistency, offering feedback and recommendations to regional marketing managers and social media content coordinators.
    • Track social media performance metrics, along with competitors, and produce reports with takeaways and suggestions for improving reach and engagement.
    • Act as NEP’s in-house expert on using social media, providing tips and training for colleagues, and championing the company’s internal social media ambassador program.
  • Content Creation
    • Write creative, relevant and engaging content for different channels, including social media copy, company website articles/blog posts, and the company’s intranet site. Edit and proofread written content to ensure it is error-free, grammatically correct, and consistent with brand guidelines.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to understand and embrace the company’s brand voice and business messaging, ensuring all written and social content aligns with who we are.
    • Work closely with the creative content producer to develop assets supporting social media posts and other digital content.
    • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative ideas for marketing campaigns.
  • Corporate Marketing & Branding Project Support
    • Actively support the ongoing rollout of new features and campaigns to drive employee adoption of NEP’s intranet site and internal communications platform.
    • Manage the day-to-day relationship with NEP’s branded merchandise vendor, including recommending new items to add to the employee online store, tracking inventory and use of merchandise, and proactively promote the online store to employees.
    • Work with marketing team members to maintain and update NEP’s corporate templates, presentations, brochures, forms, logos/graphics, and videos.
    • Collaborate with other departments to improve and coordinate the process to update corporate facts and statistics in a central database.
Position Requirements:Required
  • 4-year degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent prior work experience
  • 3 years of relevant marketing and communications project management experience
  • Strong social media management experience, including understanding of different platforms and best practices for B2B businesses
  • Excellent copywriting and editing skills, with a strong grasp of spelling, punctuation and grammar and a natural eye for detail and accuracy
  • Desire to learn with a “roll up your sleeves” work ethic
  • Must be a team player and willing to work with global teams across time zones as needed
  • Must be capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Proactive problem-solver, self-directed, strong organizational and time management skills
Helpful To Have
  • Experience using Hootsuite or other social media scheduling/management platforms, email marketing platforms such as MailChimp, website content management platforms (e.g., WordPress, Webflow), project management tools such as Monday.com, and working knowledge of graphic design programs including Canva.
